Ulrik A. Plesner was a central figure in the famous artist colony that characterized Skagen's architecture and art history in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Together with artists such as Holger Drachmann, Laurits Tuxen, P.S. Krøyer, Carl Locher and Thorvald Bindesbøll, he made Skagen an artistic epicenter - a legacy the town still celebrates and is known for.
At Plesners Badehotel we are proud to pay tribute to this artist colony. That's why we've named our rooms in the original Plesner building after these iconic artists. However, room 1 has a special story - it's named after Queen Mary, commemorating her stay at the hotel during a royal visit to Skagen.
